CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the ordinary people are being deprived of justice due to complex and cumbersome legal processes.
At a ‘KP Oli with law students’ programme in the Capital City on Thursday, the former PM argued that legal hindrances should be ended to ensure citizen’s easy access to justice.
“Every sector in the world today is and should be rule-based. But, there is such a complex net of laws that time would pass while crossing the net. Administrative dillydallying is also taking place due to legal processes. Some of the laws and legal process have hindered the development efforts,” Oli told the law students.
According to Oli, favourable environment should be maintained for smooth implementation of the laws.
There should be both usage and accessible implementation of laws, he said, adding that otherwise the progress, development, good-governance and societal justice would be affected.
On the occasion, the law students had questions to UML Chair Oli about dissolution of the House of Representatives, Nepal’s economic status, unemployment, political interference on law implementation and other issues of the party leadership’s role.
Likewise, Oli suggested that the new generation should be positive and energetic and should shun non-academic activities in the university
