The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee is meeting this morning to finalize the party’s candidate for the post of the President.
The party’s candidate to contest for the post of the new President will be finalized at the meeting to start at 8:30 a.m. at the party’s central office, Sanepa, said NC Party Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel. The party will decide on the selection of the presidential candidate and also filing of nominations for the by-election to be held in Chitwan.
It may be noted that a joint meeting of Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samajwadi Party, CPN (Unified Socialist), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and Nagarik Unmukti Party on Friday decided to support the Congress’ candidate in the election for the new Head of State of the country.
Nomination for the candidates contesting for the post are being registered today from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The vote for the post of the President will be held on coming March 9.
