Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party (NCP) co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal has stressed on the need of imparting right culture and culture to the new generation.
Speaking at a condolence program organized on the occasion of the 48th Pushpalal Memorial Day here today, he said the ‘Genji Movement’ is an example of the culture and culture we have been imparting to the new generation.
He said, “The Genji movement has become an example of what kind of culture, what kind of culture we are giving to the new generation. The people who led and called for such a movement and the agents of change had never imagined a situation where state property would be vandalized or glorious personalities would be insulted. ’
Nepal should honour national personalities including Pushpa Lal, BP Koirala, Madan Bhandari, Tulsilal Amatya, Ganeshman Singh, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai among others.
“Whether it is Pushpalal, BP Koirala, Madan Bhandari, Tulsilal Amatya, Ganeshman, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and other leaders,” he said. Such people should be respected. We should move forward in the direction of standing before the world. But I also think about what I had to see, what I had to go through,” he said.
He pointed out the need to address the grievances of the new generation seriously. “If the new generation has any complaints against us, we should not dismiss it in an abstract way, saying ‘one, two, three, four’. “We should move ahead with concrete plans on how to stop corruption, how to punish the guilty, how to develop the country’s development mindset, how to guarantee good governance, how to connect with people’s pain and suffering, how to liberate people from poverty, deprivation and unemployment,” he said.
He also said that the tendency to look at everyone from the same point of view was not appropriate. “There should be an objective assessment of how much work has been done and how much has not been done. In the abstract, there is no point in saying that everyone is the same,” he said.
Similarly, Nepal pointed out the need for all citizens of the country to be serious. He said that social activists, political activists and patriotic citizens should all be responsible towards the present situation of the country.
“We all have to be serious. Every citizen of this country should be serious. Social activists, politicians and even a patriotic citizen should be serious,” he said.
