Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has urged the government to make the Lal Commission report public. He said that although there has been a demand to make the report of Lal Commission public almost every year since 2074 BS, it has not been made public till now.
“Every time we, the political parties, made a commitment to unveil the report before joining the government, but we could not implement it once we joined the government. It’s been a decade now. ’
According to him, the report submitted by the High Level Investigation Commission (Lal Commission) formed in 2073 BS has not been made public till date and the truth of the incident has not come out completely and the victims have been deprived of justice.
He added, “Even the previous government could not do this. But the weakness of the past cannot and should not be the reason for not making the report public even today. This time, it should not be limited to commitment. Therefore, I request the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Now, make the Lal Commission’s report public without further delay. ’
“It is the right of the people to know the truth and it is the right of the victims to get justice,” he said.
