Kathmandu. A man has been arrested for driving a stolen scooter.
The arrested is Saroj Khanal, 39, of Damak municipality-7 in Jhapa district, currently living at New Bus Park, Kathmandu. He was arrested by the traffic police.
Driver Khanal had gone missing after a passenger left his laptop bag on the scooter while travelling from Naxal to Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
Traffic was informed to investigate. After this, the traffic police arrested him who was staying at a hotel in New Bus Park.
During interrogation, it was revealed that he had used a third person’s ride-sharing ID, police said.
It was also revealed that he had stolen a scooty with registration number 00-00 from Gongabu some time ago.
Saroj Khanal’s citizenship certificate was also found inside the trunk of a motorcycle while handing over the missing motorcycle to the owner of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police.
He has been involved in motorcycle theft for a long time and further investigation is being carried out saying that he might have stolen other motorcycles as well.
The recovered laptop has been handed over to the concerned person.
