She expressed the belief that the construction process would move ahead soon as the tender process in China would be shorter than that of Nepal. He said that the project was delayed due to the time taken to clear the site. She said that the project was delayed by about three to four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the Chinese side could not come to the construction of the house due to the removal of houses, trees and other structures. According to him, the necessary paperwork, correspondence, survey and design works have been progressing continuously in the recent period.
The initial estimated cost of the project was around Rs 12 billion. However, the cost is being updated again due to inflation and improvements in design. She said that the exact cost would be made public only after the revised cost details are received along with the final design.
