Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on the Netherlands in a tri-nation series under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2 underway in the Netherlands today. The match will kick off at 3:45 pm Nepali time.
Earlier, Nepal had lost the first match of the series to Namibia by 8 wickets. Nepal will play its third match against Namibia on July 26 and against Netherlands on July 27. Nepal and Namibia have 24 points each from 29 matches. On the basis of good net run rate, Nepal is in the fifth position and Namibia is in the sixth position. The Netherlands is in third place with 32 points.
Argentina has been placed first, Scotland second and Oman fourth, respectively. The remaining matches are very important for Nepal as it has to be in the top four to automatically qualify for the World Cup Global Qualifier. Each team will play 36 matches in the World Cup League-2. Nepal is under pressure to win to reach the top four as there are still 7 matches remaining. At the same time, it will be enough to stay in the top 6 to retain ODI status.
