Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal has clarified that the issues mentioned by Prime Minister Balen Shah in the parliament were mainly related to the encroachment of the no-man’s land and ‘cross-border occupation’.

Minister Khanal said this while clarifying the queries raised over the remarks made by the Prime Minister in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

“The topics mentioned by the Prime Minister in the parliament are mainly related to the encroachment of no-man’s land and cross-border occupation.

He said the border related mechanisms and technical teams of both the countries were active to manage the long open border between Nepal and India in a systematic and scientific manner.

“The technical teams of the two countries are active in the construction and repair of border pillars in the mapped areas, collection of data of the encroachment of the no-man’s land and cross-border occupation,” he said.

Minister Khanal said that the work of Nepal-India Joint Technical Committee, which was stalled for long, has resumed, adding that the task of collecting data and data is currently underway in the border areas.
