Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has termed it as a ray of hope after two people trapped inside the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli 3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project were rescued alive after 10 days due to the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
Home Minister Gurung wrote on social media on Friday with some pictures of the rescue, “Two people have been rescued alive from the 3A tunnel after 10 days, which still keeps the ray of hope alive. ’
The rescued have been identified as 30-year-old Sanjay Sah and 45-year-old Kabir Maharjan. Sah was working as a mechanical foreman and Maharjan was working as a mechanical supervisor. They were trapped inside the tunnel while they were involved in the technical work of the project due to the floods in Bhotekoshi on August 26.
He also thanked the team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force (APF) and Central Command Center for their continuous efforts. He also praised lawmakers Sagar Dhakal and Shreeram Neupane for their continuous efforts.
Home Minister Gurung said, “Rescue teams are still working in all the tunnels. ’
Preparations are underway to bring the two rescued from the tunnel to Kathmandu for further treatment and health check-up.
On Friday morning, Home Minister Gurung himself reached the rescue site. Videos of him also working in the rescue work are doing the rounds on social media.
