Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Ram Kumari Jhankri accused the government of terrorizing the private sector.

Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly on Monday, she accused Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Investment Mega Bank (NIBL) Jyoti Prakash Pandey of terrorizing the private sector by arresting him without any charge.

She blamed the arrest of the CEO of the bank without understanding the prevailing laws and banking system on the issue related to rescheduled assets and liquidation, saying it was against the spirit of the law.

He asked the bank leadership that mobilizes the deposits of savers, whose property has already gone under the control of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority? She said it was illegal to make an arrest on the basis of the question.

She accused the government of terrorizing the private sector in the name of good governance and effective service delivery.

She said, “A few days ago, the CEO of Investment Mega Bank was arrested by the police. The allegation is that the CEO should say who owns the rescheduled asset that has gone into liquidation.

However, the accusations and accusations that the CEOs who provide loans to the people and savers and the CEOs who protect them should wait to see who owns the property and who has priority, without caring about what the bank and the prevailing laws say, is condemnable.

The days of rule by fear are going to go away sooner or later. Therefore, the government should pay attention to the prevailing laws. She also warned the government to keep an eye on the prevailing laws.
