Kathmandu. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has started the process of distributing 100 truckloads of LP gas daily from Hetauda to the Kathmandu Valley through alternative road until the Prithvi Highway comes into full operation.
The ministry said that this provision has been implemented from Thursday and the supply of gas will continue through alternative routes. The ministry has claimed that the gas shortage in the Kathmandu Valley will be gradually resolved in the next few days due to continuous coordination with Nepal Oil Corporation and LP Gas entrepreneurs.
According to the Ministry, all necessary initiatives have been taken to make the supply of cooking gas easy, regular and effective so that the daily life of the general public is not further affected during the difficult situation of disaster.
The Ministry has expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property due to the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River and floods and landslides in different parts of the country. It also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and affected people.
Due to the floods on August 24, the road was blocked due to mudslides on the Prithvi Highway for about two days. After this, the highway was completely closed after the road collapsed in the Krishnabhir area, the ministry said. The ministry also made it clear that the government is committed to ensure that there is no shortage in the supply of LP gas, which is related to the basic needs of the citizens.
