Kathmandu. As of 10 am on Thursday, the bodies of 1,252 people have been recovered due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa.
Of them, 127 were found in Rasuwa, 177 in Nuwakot, 60 in Dhading, 355 in Chitwan, 69 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 218 in Nawalparasi East, 190 in Nawalparasi West and 18 in India. A total of 95 bodies have been handed over to their relatives.
A total of 897 bodies, including 213 women, 314 men and 370 unidentified bodies, have been managed (preserved under the soil) after completing the necessary procedures to identify the bodies found. The details of 959 unidentified bodies have also been uploaded on the website of Nepal Police.
So far, 7,912 police personnel have been deployed for rescue, search, relief distribution, dead body management and other works in the flood-affected areas. The search for 4,875 missing people is underway so far. Similarly, 3,126 people have been kept in holding centres in different districts.
The police have been carrying out rescue and search with the coordination and cooperation of various bodies and locals as well as removing the obstructions on the roads constructed at different places.
