Kathmandu. Vice President of Rastriya Swatantra Party, Dr. Swarnim Wagle said that the 48 per cent votes received by the RSP is a very heavy legitimacy and it should be understood as historical.
Speaking at an orientation programme of RSP lawmakers held in Lalitpur on Tuesday, he said that the people’s mandate would give a historical understanding to all.
“Right now, we’re about two-thirds of the way through,” he said. The 184 seats were not available due to technical reasons. One or two seats will be cleared. But in terms of popular votes, we have got 5.1 million or 48 percent of the votes. Whatever this mandate, whatever the mandate says, we have taken a very heavy legitimacy and we have to take that historical understanding by preserving or preserving it. ’
He added that although the main role of lawmakers is to make laws, it is to listen to the grievances of the people of their elected constituencies and inform the government.
“We are in the role of legislators, what is the main job of parliamentarians? What to do? What not to do? What is an ancillary job? It is important to understand that the experts make it clear that the main task is that we have come to make laws and we are the watch dog to review, monitor and monitor the work of the government. We should listen to the grievances of the people in our elected constituencies and raise their issues loudly,” he said.
Similarly, RSP central vice-president Dol Prasad Aryal said that the number of RSP lawmakers in the previous parliament was not able to deliver as expected.
“In the last meeting, the RSP lawmakers tried their best but at that time there was a shortage of numbers and we could not deliver as expected. Our children went out on the streets with bags in school clothes to make the country a livable country. If we had reached our number, these children would have enjoyed school,” he said.
