Kathmandu. The Blue Diamond Society has honored Bhumika Shrestha, who has been nominated as a member of the House of Representatives representing the sexual and gender minority.
Shrestha, who was nominated to the House of Representatives through the proportional representation system by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) was felicitated and bid farewell amidst a programme organized at the office of the Society on Monday.
On the occasion, lawmaker Shrestha pledged to reach every voice of indigenous nationalities, Muslims, Madhesis, people with disabilities and sexual and gender minority to the parliament.
“I would like to express my commitment to ensure that every voice of indigenous nationalities, Muslims, Madhesis, people with disabilities and sexual and gender minority is heard in the parliament,” she said. I am confident that you all will support me in the work that I have to do in the future. ’
She also expressed special thanks to the media for being able to reach the parliament for the representation of the community.
Pinky Gurung, former president of the society, said that the opportunity to represent the gender minority in the parliament after 24-25 years has ended the situation of not achieving success despite struggle.
“After 24-25 years, we have finally got this opportunity. We can’t say we can’t achieve success after we struggle,” she said.
He believes that the role will play an important role in taking the issues of the road to the parliament by collecting them and taking them to the parliament. Also

Bhumika Shrestha is representing the Blue Diamond Society as a transgender woman in the parliament for the first time.
