Kathmandu. Students have taken to the streets demanding justice for Inisha BK of Surkhet, who was allegedly raped and murdered.
Students and teachers of Usha Balbatika staged a demonstration in Birendranagar.
Dressed in school uniform, they also chanted slogans at the gate of the District Police Office for some time. The demonstrators carried placards with slogans such as “Justice for Inisha”, “Hang the murderer” and “Daughter cannot be killed”.
On March 7, Inisha was found dead in a community forest in Surkhet. Meanwhile, a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has reached Surkhet to investigate into the incident. Chief of District Police Office, Surkhet, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Raj Shahi, said that an expert team of CIB led by an inspector arrived in Birendranagar to investigate into the incident. Shahi said that the District Police Office, Surkhet has completed the preliminary investigation and the CIB had to take the help of CIB for scientific and technical analysis of the evidences received in the incident.
Anu said that they had to take the help of CIB to reach the final conclusion of the investigation as the post-mortem report and other evidences have been received. “A lot of evidence is being tested,” he said, adding that the post-mortem report has come in, the mobile phones are being tested for toxicological and bioserological tests at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory. He said that the truth of the incident will be known after the reports of the laboratory come. According to SP Shahi, an expert team has been formed at the District Police Office, Surkhet and a team from Karnali Province Police Office, Nepalgunj has also reached the district to conduct polygraph. He said that polygraphy will detect that people are lying. Shahi said that all the evidences of the incident have been sent to the laboratory to ascertain the cause of death.
Relatives of Inisha have not received her body for a week. Inasha’s body has been kept at the mortuary of Karnali Provincial Hospital. The relatives of Inisha have been adamant that they will not receive the body until there is confidence that those involved in the murder will be punished. Inasha, who is in Dubai for work, has reached Surkhet via India after getting the news of the murder of her father-daughter. Her mother, who lives in Birendranagar, has been distraught since the day her daughter was murdered. His father, Indra Bahadur, who reached Surkhet, said that he would not receive the body until his daughter gets justice. “My daughter was murdered in a planned manner,” he said. ’
