Kathmandu. The infection of African Swine flu has increased in pigs reared commercially in various rural municipalities of Parbat district.
A total of 46 monkeys have died during the festival due to African Swine Flu. The Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Office, Parbat has urged farmers and pig herders to stay alert after a test conducted in and around the district headquarters confirmed the African Swine Fever.
According to the Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Office, Parbat, some pigs reared in Kushma Municipality were tested for symptoms like fever, blue ears, tail and lower abdomen, not eating and sudden death.
According to the office, the rapid kit collected samples was found to be positive for African Swine Fever.
According to the Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Office, pig samples should be tested in laboratories, dead pigs should be buried or cremated in deep trenches, domestic pigs should not be allowed to come into contact with wild pigs and they should not be fed waste from hotels or kitchens.
