Counting of 40 lakh votes under proportional representation will be announced by tomorrow

Kathmandu. The counting of votes for the House of Representatives election held on March 4 has reached the final stage. According to the Election Commission, the final results of most of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) constituencies have been made public while the counting of votes under the proportional representation (PR) category is underway at a rapid pace. According to Election Commission Spokesperson Narayan Prakash Bhattarai, out of the total 165 seats under the first-past-the-post category, the final results of 155 seats have been declared.

Counting of votes is underway in the remaining 10 constituencies and the work is going on in full swing. According to the EC, the results of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category would be published by tonight or by tomorrow if there is no technical or other obstacle in the vote counting.

According to him, the commission has already started counting of votes under the proportional representation system in the constituencies where the vote counting has already been completed.

According to Bhattarai, more than 40 lakh votes have been counted so far. The Commission has estimated that the counting of votes under the proportional representation system will be completed within the next three days as the employees are continuously working at the counting centers across the country.

Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the EC has effectively mobilized all the mechanisms to make the vote counting process fast, fast and transparent. With the results of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) election in the final stage, the attention of the general public and the political parties has now shifted their attention to the proportional representation (PR) election and the recognition of the national parties and the seat allocation.
