Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP)’s Kishori Sah Kamal, who had filed his candidacy in Dhanusha Constituency-1, got more than 20,000 votes.
A complaint was lodged against Sah at the office of the returning officer on February 24. The Office of the Chief Election Officer had forwarded the complaint to the Election Commission on February 24 after a complaint was filed against the Kamal Construction Service being blacklisted.
The EC had sought clarification from Sah on February 27 and had decided to annul his candidacy on March 3.
The symbol of his candidacy remained intact as the ballot papers had been printed. A total of 20,916 votes have been cast in the bell symbol as the counting of votes is underway.
The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notice today directing the voters not to make public the results of the vote counting. With this, the counting of votes in the constituency is in confusion.
Matrika Prasad Yadav of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has secured 7,566 votes in the constituency while Ram Paltan Sah of the Nepali Congress has got 7,428 votes.
