Independent candidate Mahabir Pun leads in Myagdi

Kathmandu. Independent candidate Mahabir Pun is leading by over 12,600 votes in the ongoing House of Representatives election in Myagdi district.

Pun is leading in 41 wards of Dhawalagiri, Malika, Mangala Rural Municipality, Beni Municipality, Raghuganga Rural Municipality and Annapurna Rural Municipality with 20,208 votes.

Vote counting of 3,900 votes of Annapurna Rural Municipality 5, 6, 7 and 8 is yet to be counted. His nearest rival was CPN-UML’s Hari Krishna Shrestha who got 7,524 votes, according to Chief Election Officer Surya Bahadur Thapa.

Karna Bahadur Bhandari of Nepali Congress (K.B.)Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has garnered 6,275 votes while Arjun Thapa of Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has garnered 3,412 votes. A total of 46,215 votes were cast in the election held on Thursday. A total of 42,445 votes have been counted.
