Kathmandu. Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has expressed satisfaction over the peaceful and violence-free elections held throughout the country.
Home Minister Aryal said that the country, constitution and humanity might be at risk if the elections were not held. Stating that the government’s aim is to conduct free and fair elections, he claimed that this time’s election was of better quality than the previous ones.
“This election has guaranteed to save humanity, country and constitution,” he said. Had this election not been held, our country, constitution and humanity would have been at risk. Now we have held a fair election. This time, there has been a quality and strong election. ’
He also said that security has been tightened in time at the places where violent clashes may take place during the election. “Except for one or two places, there was no major incident of violence, we prevented and controlled it in those places where it was going to happen,” he said.
Stating that the voting was postponed in many places before this and there was a need to conduct re-election, he said this time the voting was completed at the same time across the country and there was no need to adjourn it anywhere.
Home Minister Aryal pointed out the need to further strengthen the standards of political governance through such practice. He said that these standards are expected to be maintained by the next government in the future.
“Everyone knows that not a drop of blood could be shed this time,” Aryal added. Since the formation of our government, there has been no shedding of blood due to political violence. During the election, there were almost no violent clashes, and wherever they tried to happen, they were stopped and controlled. In this way, the voting was completed simultaneously across the country and there is no adjournment. ’
