Kathmandu. A partial eclipse (which will cover about half of the rising eclipse) will take place tonight. According to the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, the committee has given permission for the eclipse to touch at 3:34 pm.

Committee Chair Prof Shambhu Prasad Dhakal said although the lunar eclipse is visible when it touches the moon, it will be partial to the eclipse after the moonrise in Nepal. At 6:03 p.m., the moon will rise at the same time as the eclipse. The lunar eclipse ends at 7:02 pm. The lunar eclipse will be visible for about one hour from Nepal.

A total lunar eclipse is when the Earth completely covers the Sun. A partial lunar eclipse is one that covers half or a few parts. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth, the Sun and the Moon are in the same formula.

This is the second eclipse that will be seen from Nepal this year. Before this, a total lunar eclipse took place on September 22. The lunar eclipse takes place on the full moon and solar eclipse on the new moon date.

There is a scriptural saying that chanting, bathing, meditation, recitation and other rituals during the eclipse will be fruitful. It is also considered best to take the initiation mantra during the eclipse. Religious texts including Nirnayasindhu, Hemadri, Kalmadhav, Veermitrodaya among other religious texts have mentioned that one should bathe in the nearby rivers, lakes, lakes and ponds at home if possible.

According to theologian Prof Toyaraj Nepal, Sutak begins four prahar (12 hours) during the solar eclipse and three prahar (nine hours) before the lunar eclipse. There is a religious belief that one should not eat after sleeping. He also said that food has been strictly prohibited except for children, elderly and sick.

According to the calendar, the committee has approved that people except children, the elderly and the sick should not eat after 9:03 am on Tuesday.

Lunar eclipse can be seen without special equipment

Out of the four eclipses that will take place in 2026 in the world, tomorrow’s lunar eclipse will be seen as a partial lunar eclipse from Nepal. According to Nepal Astronomical Society, the eclipse will be visible from all parts of the country if the weather permits. No special equipment is needed to see the lunar eclipse.

The partial lunar eclipse that will take place till 07:02 pm after moonrise in Nepal on Tuesday will be clearly visible if the weather cooperates. This is the only eclipse that will be visible from Nepal in 2026, said Suresh Bhattarai, president of Nepal Astronomical Society.

The eclipse can be observed from the roof of your house, or open ground or nearby hills. He said that the nearby high geography will be best to see this eclipse that begins with the moonrise in Nepal.

While the Earth revolves around the Sun, the Moon also revolves around the Earth. In this process, when the Earth falls between the Sun and the Moon, the Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon. Due to the lack of light of the moon, the shadow of the earth blocks the moon, this is called a lunar eclipse.

Although the Sun, Earth and Moon may be in the same line during the full moon or new moon, not all full moon lunar eclipses are possible because the moon’s orbital plane is at an angle of about 5 degrees to the earth’s orbital surface.

Similarly, the moon’s orbit cuts the earth’s orbital surface at two points. He said that these two points are named Rahu and Ketu in ancient astrology.
