Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A fine of two lakh rupees will be imposed on any candidate of a different political party if they are found obstructing the election campaigning.
According to the law, the Election Commission has the provision of a fine of up to two hundred thousand or three years of imprisonment or both for obstructing or causing to be obstructed with the intention of depriving the people of the election campaign or exercising the right to vote.
It is stated that the EC has been monitoring the election publicity of the political parties or candidates participating in the elections to the House of Representatives through various means. According to the EC, complaints and complaints have been received that any other political party, candidate, party cadres or the general public have obstructed the election campaigning activities of any political party or candidate.
The election code of conduct has already been issued regarding the conduct to be followed by the political parties, candidates or sister organizations of the parties and the person concerned. The code of conduct has the provision of not obstructing or obstructing any kind of rally, mass meeting, corner meeting, meeting, assembly or any other programme organized by any political party, candidate or the party’s sister organization.
It is the responsibility of all political parties, candidates, general public and stakeholders to hold the election in a free, fair, fair and fear-free environment.
