. The HPV vaccination campaign against cervical cancer is to begin across the country from Sunday. According to the Department of Health Services, about 3.5 lakh girls will be vaccinated under this campaign.
Chief of the Child Health and Immunization Section, Dr. According to Abhiyan Gautam, the HPV vaccine will be given to girls studying in class 6 and above 10 years of age. Girls from 7-10 years and adolescent girls between 11 to 14 years would also be vaccinated.
Arrangements have been made for school-going girls to be vaccinated in school while non-school-going girls can get the vaccine from the nearest health institution. The vaccination campaign will continue till February 29.
