Kathmandu. Central member of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and candidate for House of Representatives constituency-3 Lalitpur, Dr. Toshima Karki has claimed that a positive atmosphere has been created for the RSP in the upcoming elections.

Stating that the Nepali people are waiting for the election on March 4, she expressed the belief that more votes would be cast for the election symbol.

Claiming that the RSP would get a significant number of votes in the proportional representation category, Karki said that the party should be given an opportunity to work by forming a single majority government this time. “I am fully confident that the people will give an opportunity to the Rastriya Swatantra Party to form a majority government,” she said.

Stating that reforms in health sector were the main objective of her entry into politics, Karki pointed out the need to extend health insurance to all Nepali citizens.

Stating that access to health insurance was limited to 37 per cent at present and around Rs 12 billion was yet to be paid, she claimed that Rs 18 billion could be made annually if all citizens were associated with the insurance scheme.

“I’m going to work to improve the health sector,” she said. Nepali citizens had to be included in the health insurance scheme. There is a possibility of providing free quality health services. However, only 37 percent of the population has access to health insurance. About Rs 12 billion is yet to be paid. But if 100 percent of the Nepali population were to join the health insurance scheme, it would be Rs 18 billion annually. The remaining amount can also be saved by making payments. Through which health services can be made effective. ’

According to her, there was a need to implement a central control system of ambulances, systematic collection of health data and electronic medical record system to make the emergency service and trauma management system effective.

“One is in the case of health, the other is in the case of emergency, there is a need to make the trauma management system effective,” she said. For example, the control mechanism of ambulances can be introduced. In addition to collecting data, all Nepalese can also be connected to the electronic medical record system. ’

According to Karki, women empowerment, youth employment and corruption prevention are also the priority agendas of the party along with health. According to her, a check and balance system was necessary to make women self-reliant and to ensure effective utilization of ward-level budget.

“The role to be played for women empowerment, self-reliance and empowerment, and the work of check and balance can be done by utilizing the budget received in the ward,” she said.

According to him, the party is focused on creating employment opportunities for youths in the country and preventing brain drain.

Stressing that the government to be formed after the Jenji movement should be stable and strong, Karki said that the priority would be to take action against the guilty in all corruption cases and maintain good governance. She said that necessary laws and acts should be amended and passed for this.

She said, “The main priority of the next government will be to eradicate corruption, take action against those guilty in corruption cases so far, good governance, amend related acts and laws.” ’

According to him, the RSP has fielded the highest number of Genji candidates in the FPTP category, including eight Genji and 16 women candidates. However, she acknowledged that women’s direct candidacy was still inadequate and called for improvement in the coming days.

“The Rastriya Swatantra Party has now fielded the highest number of Genji candidates directly. There are eight Jenji, and 16 are women. Ours is more than other parties, but not enough,” she said.

Stating that most of the proposed laws and amendments of the party could not be passed due to lack of number in the last elections, Karki pledged to carry out concrete works within five years if a single majority government is formed this time.

She made it clear that she did not want to compromise on the agenda due to the compulsion of the coalition government.

Stating that the role of new voters, especially Genji generation, would be decisive, she urged all citizens to actively participate in the election with fair, fair and wider participation. “The next government will be a government with Jenji’s mandate,” she said.
