Flights resume between Pakistan and Bangladesh after 14 years

. After a gap of 14 years, direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh have resumed. After 2012, people who had to travel via Dubai or Doha will now be able to take direct flights from Dhaka to Karachi.

Bangladesh Airlines will operate flights twice a week (Thursday and TAG_OPEN_p_3 Saturday). According to the airlines, this will increase trade, education and cultural exchanges.

TAG_OPEN_p_2 Sheikh Hasina’s rule ended in 2024 after a student-led uprising in Bangladesh, which helped improve relations with Pakistan. The Karachi-Chittagong cargo ship was reopened in November 2024.
