Heavy snowfall again in Bajura

Kathmandu. Bajura has again received snowfall. Last Friday, it snowed for the first time along with winter rains. Rain and heavy snowfall occurred again on Tuesday night.

Rainfall and snowfall occurred in the high mountainous and mountainous areas of the district since Tuesday night. The farmers here are happy with the snowfall with the rains.

Rainfall and snowfall continue in the high mountainous and mountainous areas of all the 9 local levels of Bajura district. Life here has become very difficult due to heavy snowfall. The elderly, children and people with chronic diseases have been mostly affected due to snowfall.

Due to heavy snowfall, the high hills and mountains including Badimalika, Porakhelek, Kalajagra, Budhinanda, Ranisain and Sunanda have turned white. According to Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Bajura, the wheat crop which was drying up due to snowfall with rain has provided further relief to the crops.

Jasiram Sahani, chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Bajura, said that the snowfall has further provided relief to winter crops. Sahani said that the snowfall along with the rain will provide relief to the farmers and the wheat crop which is about to dry will flourish well.

He said that along with the wheat crop, it has also been easier for the paddy crop to be planted in the month of March. The high mountainous and mountainous areas of Bajura are now covered with a veil of snow. Wild animals have also come down from cold due to excessive rain and snowfall.

Poaching of wildlife is likely to increase after snowfall accompanied by rainfall. According to the Division Forest Office, Bajura, the locals are likely to hunt wild animals as they have started descending more to escape cold due to snowfall. It has also been urged not to steal and poach wildlife.

Heavy snowfall has disrupted the Martadi-Kolti road section in Bajura district. Vehicular movement along this road section has come to a grinding halt due to excessive snowfall at Porakhel in Bajura. The rain and snowfall that started last night are still continuing. Power supply and telephone services have also been affected due to the snowfall.
