Activist Sodari’s health condition critical, admitted to Bir Hospital

Kathmandu. Ajaya Sodari, who has been staging a hunger strike at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu, has been admitted to Bir Hospital today after his health deteriorated.

Sodari was on a hunger strike for the last 9 days putting forth a six-point demand.TAG_OPEN_p_36 His health condition eventually deteriorated as the government did not show any interest even after the hunger strike continued for 9 consecutive days.

The hospital’s Dr. According to Jagat BK, Sodari’s health condition was deteriorating and he had to be admitted immediately.

Sodari’s 6-point demands are as follows:

  1. Immediately cancel the election activities and give a lasting way out to the country through the formation of an all-party government.

  2. Immediate release of prisoners arrested during the Genji movement and maximum action against the guilty should be ensured.

  3. Fair investigation and strict action should be taken against those accused of corruption.

  4. The direct executive system should be implemented.

  5. The state should be restructured through amendment or rewriting of the constitution.

  6. Voting rights of Nepali citizens living abroad should be guaranteed.

The issue of the Genji movement is now widely discussed, along with Sodari’s health condition and the government’s response.
