There should not be any weakness in election security: IGP Aryal

Kathmandu. Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF), Raju Aryal, has directed the Armed Police Force (APF) employees not to allow for any kind of security in view of the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4.

At a programme organised at the APF Nepal Headquarters on Monday, he directed the officers deputed to carry out various office chiefs and stressed the need for effective mobilization of the general public to ensure full security to the public.

IGP Aryal directed the security personnel to work with high professionalism and morale to conduct the elections in a fear-free environment. He also warned that immediate action would be taken against the commanders involved in weak command and negligence.

Clarifying that the APF officers in the responsibility of the command should work within the dignity of the post, he said immediate action would be taken if there is any mischief or indiscipline in the work area. He also directed the subordinate employees to mobilize their subordinate employees by fully abiding by the election code of conduct.

IGP Aryal stressed that all the APF employees should be more actively mobilized in their respective responsibilities as per the policy and thinking adopted by the organization. He also stressed the need to focus on ways to control revenue leakage.

Directing the border units to be more active in strengthening patrolling, patrolling and operational activities, he urged them to work with zero tolerance on corruption by maintaining financial transparency.
