PM Karki inspects Kathmandu-Tarai fast track

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki inspected the under-construction Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track here today. She along with a team of Nepal Army officials and high-ranking officials carried out an on-site inspection of the fast-track this morning.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki took stock of the current progress of the project and directed concerned concerned to complete the project in an effective and prompt manner. She also expressed commitment that the government would provide necessary support for the project.

The Kathmandu-Tarai Expressway is a national pride project. The 71 km long road linking the Kathmandu Valley with Nijgadh of Bara is considered very important from the strategic and economic point of view.

The fast track is being constructed under the management and supervision of Nepal Army. Although the project is targeted to be completed by mid-April, 2083 BS, the project has been affected due to policy complexities, geographical challenges and land acquisition problems.

The project has achieved 42.13 per cent physical progress till mid-July 2082.
