Kathmandu. Gagan Kumar Thapa, the candidate for the next Prime Minister, has reached Sarlahi for campaigning.

A large crowd had gathered to welcome him and felicitate him, who reached Simara by a Buddha Air plane on Monday. He has filed his nomination from Sarlahi-4 and will hold party cadres meetings and campaign for a few days.

After becoming the Congress president, Gagan has announced that he has changed the Congress and now he will change the country. The party has decided to field Thapa as the next prime ministerial candidate. Before leaving for Sarlahi, Thapa said that he was going to Madhes to reunite the country. In a video message, he said, “I am going to Madhes because I want to unite the country. ’

Contesting the election to the House of Representatives from Sarlahi constituency-4 this time, he expressed his confidence that he would belong to not only one constituency but the entire Nepal. Thapa, who had won the election from Kathmandu-4 three times before this, said that he would keep the constituency in his heart.

A large number of NC cadres from Bara, Rautahat, Parsa, Sarlahi and other districts of Madhes had reached Simara airport since early this morning to welcome Thapa. Thapa was welcomed with garlands, abir and slogans when he landed at the airport. The enthusiastic presence of the cadres seemed to show the growing influence of the Congress in the Madhes province and the attraction towards Thapa.

Although he had filed his candidacy from Sarlahi constituency-4, he could not be present on the day of nomination due to his busy schedule. Thapa, who had filed his nomination through Waresh, has left for his constituency for the first time today to meet the voters and cadres of his constituency directly.

He is scheduled to reach Sarlahi from Simara by road. After assuming the leadership of the Nepali Congress, Thapa has given priority to Madhes-centric politics.
