Supreme Court refuses to issue interim order on Resham Chaudhary’s petition

. Patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NAUPA) Nepal, Resham Lal Chaudhary, will not be able to contest the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4.

The Election Commission had already cancelled Chaudhary’s candidacy.TAG_OPEN_p_3 The EC had rejected his candidacy citing that there was a record of conviction and imprisonment against him. Chaudhary had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against this decision.

However, the court did not issue an interim order while hearing the petition on Sunday and fixed the next hearing on January 29. Therefore, Chaudhary will not be able to contest the election to the House of Representatives from Kailali constituency-1.
