Samjhana Devkota elected to National Assembly from Gandaki

. CPN-UML’s Samjhana Devkota has been elected from Gandaki Province in the National Assembly election. Devkota won the election in Pokhara with a weightage of 5,014 votes.

In Gandaki Province, 223 out of 228 voters cast their votes.TAG_OPEN_p_3 Two lawmakers of RPP and 3 representatives of the ruling alliance did not participate in the voting. Devkota was leading in the election despite a weightage of 91 votes against 5,105 votes for the ruling alliance candidate who was required to get 5,105 votes.

The Office of the Chief Election Officer is yet to officially announce the results.TAG_OPEN_p_2 Goma Ghimire of Nepal Communist Party and Laxmi Baskota of Rastriya Janamorcha were also in the fray for the election.
