President Poudel listens to Basanta Shrawan

Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel today listened to the Basanta Shrawan programme. Poudel performed the Basanta Shrawan at a special function organized at Nasalchowk in Hanumandhoka Durbar on Friday morning on the occasion of this year’s Shree Panchami (Basanta Panchami). On the occasion, the main priest of Hanumandhoka Care Adda, offered tika, garland and flower offerings to President Poudel.

On the occasion, President Poudel offered homage to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, while a contingent of Nepal Army offered guard of honour in her honour. The event was attended by the First Lady Sabita Poudel, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushil Karki, Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Dahal, ministers, chiefs of constitutional bodies and distinguished personalities. On the occasion of Basanta Panchami, Goddess Saraswati is worshipped. It is believed that listening to the Basanta on this occasion brings happiness, peace and prosperity.
