Kathmandu. Police have seized 705 cylinders of cooking gas from Gairigaun in Tinkune, Kathmandu. A team from the Valley Crime Investigation Office seized the gas loaded in two big trucks.
Police have arrested Dinesh Luitel, the proprietor of Jaya Shree Balaji Gas Store in Basundhara, on the charge of black marketing of gas. Luitel, 38, is a resident of Gramthan Rural Municipality-2 in Morang.
SP Rameshwor Karki of the Valley Crime Investigation Office told Ratopati that Luitel, who runs a gas store in Basundhara, was selling gas at Rs 2,750 per cylinder. All the cylinders seized belong to Nepal Gas Company. SP Karki said that the accused used to sell new cylinders for Rs 5,000.
