KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Balen Shah has expressed sorrow over the loss of lives due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa and said that the government is working hard to deal with the disaster.
Addressing the special hour of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shah said that the flood in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa district on August 24 had caused a big loss of lives in a moment.
He extended heartfelt tribute to all those who lost their lives in the floods and extended condolences to the bereaved family members.
Prime Minister Shah said, “The devastating flood in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa on August 10 snatched our parents, sisters and brothers from us in a moment. I pay heartfelt tribute to all those who lost their lives in this unimaginable calamity. ’
He said that the disaster caused by the disaster in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading was not only a common pain of these districts but the entire country.
“This pain is not only of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading but a common blow on the chest of the entire Nepal,” he said.
Prime Minister Shah said that the leadership should give courage and confidence to the people and not despair in times of crisis. Stating that there is no situation to take rest due to fatigue and pain during the disaster, he said rescue, relief and rehabilitation works are being taken forward with priority.
“There is no freedom to take rest because the body is tired. There is no time to mourn even when the heart is broken. We have accepted the reality that in this hour of crisis, the leadership of the country should give courage and confidence to the people, not tears, so we have no other option but to fight this calamity with determination and courage. We are fighting,” he said.
He said that there is no alternative to moving forward with determination and courage to face the disaster.
