KATHMANDU: Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun has issued an eight-point update on the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
According to Minister Pun, the flood triggered by the glacial lake burst in Tibet has badly damaged Timure, Rasuwagadhi and Syaphrubesi areas of the district.
He said that about 200 MW of hydropower projects have been completely damaged by the floods.
According to Pun, 11 helicopters have been deployed for rescue and relief. The injured have been brought to Trishuli District Hospital for treatment, while arrangements have been made for the rest of the affected people to stay in Dhunche.
Teams of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been mobilised in the disaster-hit areas.
Minister Pun said although the flood level towards the head of the Bhotekoshi River is receding, the impact of the flood is increasing in the downstream area and it is reaching up to Muglin.
He also said that the government has already managed the necessary budget for disaster management and rescue.

1. Bhotekoshi floods following the bursting of glacial lakes in Tibet.
2. Excessive damage caused in Timure, Rasuwagadhi and Syaphrubesi.
3. Hydropower projects with a capacity of 200 MW have been completely damaged.
A total of 11 helicopters have been deployed for the rescue operation.
5. The injured will be brought to Trishuli District Hospital for treatment and arrangements have been made to stay in Dhunche for other affected people.
6. Teams of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been mobilized for the rescue operation.
7. Although the flood is receding towards the head of the Bhotekoshi river, the flood in the lower reaches is moving towards Muglin.
8. The government has allocated necessary budget for disaster management.
