KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has urged the government to give first priority to saving the lives and rescue of the citizens during the disaster caused by the floods in Rasuwa.
Issuing an appeal on Facebook on social media, President Lamichhane urged the party leaders, members and well-wishers to move forward with patience and responsibility in such difficult times. He urged the people who are at risk of floods and disasters to go to safer places and fully follow the instructions given by the local administration and security bodies.
Stating that attention should be paid to the authenticity of information during disasters, he urged the government agencies, local administration and credible media to rely only on the information received from the media. “Let us not spread unverified information, rumors or rumors on social media at this sensitive time,” he said. He said that misinformation will make rescue operations difficult and spread unnecessary panic among the citizens.
Lamichhane has directed all the cadres of the RSP from the local to the central level to coordinate with the concerned local administration and security agencies to be active in rescue, relief and volunteer work. He stressed that the only priority of all should be to save the lives of the citizens and provide humanitarian assistance in the time of disaster.
Expressing solidarity with the affected citizens, he appealed to everyone to stay safe and help each other.
