Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Padam Kumari Aryal has expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property across the country due to incessant rains.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, lawmaker Aryal stressed that the government should give priority to the immediate rescue of the people affected by natural disasters, treatment of injured and rehabilitation of the displaced people.
Aryal said that the incident that took the lives of 18 people in Rolpa in two days is very sad and tragic.
She said floods and landslides have caused a big loss in various districts of the country including the Bajura and Kaski borders.
Aryal urged the government to give first priority to rescue of people affected by natural disasters and those at risk, treatment of injured and rehabilitating the displaced families.
Stating that the state would not be felt only by providing general relief to the people affected by the disaster, she stressed that the government should play the role of a guardian in the time of crisis.
