Kathmandu. A woman suffering from marijuana tried to set herself on fire in Dhanusha.
Phool Kumari Rajak tried to set herself on fire by pouring petrol on her body in front of the District Court in Janakpurdham on Wednesday. The security personnel stopped him when he saw him pouring petrol. Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. Phool Kumari, 50, of Ward No. 4, had taken Rs 600,000 from Sahu Gopal Sah by mortgaging her 8 dhur land in 2081 BS.
It is learnt that Sahu Gopal Sah did not return the money he had taken from him and when he went to demand his land back, he did not return it time and again. Victim Phool Kumari had filed a complaint after she came to know that Sahu Gopal Sah had taken loan by keeping the land in the bank.
The arrestees have been identified as Gopal Sah, 53, his wife Rekha Sah, 48, and their son Hareram Sah, 32, of Kapileshwor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-16. More than a dozen cases of interest and fraud have been filed against the trio.
The victims have been staging a sit-in in front of the District Police Office, Dhanusha and the District Court, Dhanusha. They have demanded a high-level investigation by the CIB, alleging that the three arrested are notorious meter badges.
