Kathmandu. Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Rana’s group is to register a new party on August 12. The party is going to be formally registered at the Election Commission in the name of ‘Jaya Nepal Party’.
The unification was announced between the group led by Dhawal Shumsher and the group led by royalist businessman Durga Prasai. However, the party is on the verge of breaking the unity without even registering it. Prasain had made various allegations against Dhawal Shumsher in an interview to a YouTube channel yesterday. As a result, the possibility of cooperation has almost ended, according to the Dhawal group.
Dhawal faction leader Mukunda Shyam Giri told Nepal Press that preparations were underway to register the party on May 29.
“It is expected that they (Durga Paksha) will come, even if they do not come, we will not stop now,” he said. ’
Earlier, it was announced that the party would be formed with Rana as chairman and Prasain as the supreme leader. However, there is a dispute over who will be ahead in the ranking. The Dhawal faction believes that the chairman should undoubtedly be in the first preference, while Prasain has argued that no one can be above the ‘supreme leader’.
The Prasain faction has demanded that the functions, duties and rights of the ‘supreme leader’ should be clearly defined. They are insisting that the supreme leader should be with executive powers and power should be shared with the chairman. They have demanded that Durga Prasain should sign while distributing tickets for the election. The white side does not agree with this.
A meeting of the task force of both sides held yesterday but could not reach a consensus. However, both sides have said that the possibility of an agreement is not over.
Giri, who is from Dhawal’s side, says, “We are in favor of going together as much as possible. The statements made by him (Durga Prasain) are his personal opinions. I don’t think that’s why the collaboration will be broken. ’
Madhav Kalpit, leader of the Durga Prasain faction, said that they are in favour of going together. He claimed that talks are still going on and there is a possibility of going to register together on the 29th.
“It doesn’t mean that we have broken down,” Kalpit said. I’m all for it to be matched anyway. ’
He said that the statement made by Durga Prasain against Dhawal Shumsher will not hurt the unity.
“People who speak from morning till evening sometimes say the right thing, sometimes they say the wrong thing. I don’t think it should be taken too seriously,” he added.
However, Radhika Joshi, press coordinator of the proposed president, said that the possibility of collaboration has diminished.
She said, “The kind of things that Durga Prasain has said in the interview has spoiled the atmosphere of cooperation. We are preparing to register the party on the 29th in our own way. We include those who come from their side, but there is no more institutional cooperation. ’
The two sides had agreed to form a 101-member central committee. It will include 40 members from the Dhawal group, 40 from the Prasain group and the remaining 20 from other groups. Joshi said that the Election Commission has been appointed at 12:30 pm for the registration of the party.
