Kathmandu. ‘Gaunthali’ has become the seventh highest-grossing Nepali film so far. The film has earned Rs 16.78 crore nationwide till Friday afternoon.
Directed by Kapil Rijal, the film has surpassed Mother with Chakka Panja 1, 2 and 5, Kohinoor, Mahajatra, and Aa. Now the list of highest grossing films is Jaari, Chakka Panja 4, Paran, 12 Gaun, Kabaddi 4 and Purna Bahadur’s Sarangi.
If this pace continues, the film can be projected to surpass the earnings of ‘Zarti’ by next week. Since there are no big films and a strong word of mouth, the earnings of ‘Gaunthali’ will not stop immediately.
Producer Suman Giri’s nephew said that he is happy that the pace of earnings has made not only him but also the industry dynamic.
