Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has admitted that the party has made mistakes in the present political situation. He said this while speaking at a symposium entitled ‘Role of Communists in Current Political Situation’ organized by Pushpalal Friendship Centre here today on the occasion of the 48th Pushpalal Memorial Day.

Prachanda, who is also the former Prime Minister, said that there has been intense pressure and interference on national independence at present, adding that the counter-revolutionary and regressive forces have raised their heads. He said that Nepal has reached a very complicated situation after the Sugauli Treaty after the incident of September 23, 2024.

“Now it is appropriate to discuss how to resolve the crisis,” Prachanda said, adding, “We had to see the helplessness of Nepal’s security agencies in the August incident in front of our eyes.” This is a lot of helplessness after the Sugauli Treaty. He said that the challenge cannot be met without a proper and scientific review of how this situation has arisen.

Prachanda also said that a general review is not enough for this. “We’ve made a big mistake somewhere. What was the reason behind the burning of Nepal’s heritages and party offices and history in front of our eyes,” Prachanda questioned. ’

Stating that the current problem could not be resolved through dogmatic methods, Prachanda said there was a history of political parties not bowing down to foreign powers.
