Thailand organizes ‘meet and greet’ in honour of police chief Karki

Kathmandu. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Thailand and Piano (ALE) jointly organized a ‘Meet and Greet’ programme in honour of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki.

The chief guest of the program was Nepal’s Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli and senior singer Ananda Karki. The program was attended by NRNA Thailand, Thai Nepali Association, Magar Gurung Association, Tamang Association, Newari Association, Kirant Association, various Nepali organizations based in Thailand, social workers, businessmen, intellectuals and distinguished personalities from the Nepali community.

The welcome speech of the program was given by Piano Coordinator Kumar Karki. Former President of NRNA Thailand and NRNA Asia-Pacific Deputy Coordinator Bhabindra Basnet talked about the establishment, objectives, activities and contribution of NRNA Thailand to the Nepali diaspora.

Inspector General of Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, in his speech, shed light on the control of organized crime, prevention of crimes across the border, international security cooperation and modern security strategy adopted by Nepal Police.

Former President of NRNA Thailand Sanjay Dhakal and Senior Vice President of Thai-Nepali Association Binod Lamichhane welcomed the guests. NRNA Thailand former President Khagendra Dhakal spoke of the need of more coordination and effective collaboration between the concerned bodies of Nepal and Thailand to control human trafficking and other transnational crimes taking place in Thailand.
