Kathmandu. The Department of Labor and Occupational Security has directed the workers and victims to address their complaints or applications within 1 hour.
The Department has issued a circular to its subordinate bodies directing the office chief and the concerned employee to address the complaint lodged by the victim within 1 hour of receiving it.
The directive was issued by issuing a circular to the Labor and Employment Offices and Occupational Safety and Health Centers. The Department issued the directive after complaints were received by Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav that the complaints received from various channels (Hello Sarkar, Ministry or Department) in the past or directly submitted to the office were not addressed on time, employees did not behave properly and delayed in delivering justice.
The complaint or application of the worker should be addressed within 1 hour of receipt and information should be given to the concerned person. Similarly, the employees should follow their responsibilities and conduct as per the Good Governance (Management and Operation) Act, 2064 and the Civil Service Act, 2049 BS.
The directives include taking timely response from the establishment on the complaints of the workers, holding talks as per the labour law and the office should take decision if it is not resolved through talks, and implementing the orders or decisions made by the Labour Court and the office on time.
The department has also directed to inform about the complaints received from Hello Sarkar as soon as possible after addressing them.
