Kathmandu. It has been raining continuously in various districts since July 18 evening. A total of 58 incidents have been reported across the country due to rains. The local administration has taken precaution in the risky areas as there is a risk of flood and landslide.
According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, three people lost their lives in 58 incidents of disasters in the past 24 hours. The deceased have been identified as Shanta Rai, 43, of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality-6 and Parshuram Pariyar, 71, of Kopilasgadhi rural municipality-4.
The deceased has been identified as Bhakta Bahadur Thami, 55, of Bhimeshwor Municipality-2, Dolakha, according to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Abinarayan Kafle.
Police have rescued one person in the last 24 hours. 13 others were injured. According to the police, the incessant rain, fire, lightning, flood and landslide caused financial loss of Rs 23.66 million.
Since April 1, 2008, 168 people have lost their lives due to natural disasters. In the last three months, 994 people were injured. 2 people are still missing. A total of 3,463 incidents of disaster were recorded across the country during the period. According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, 1,015 cattle died in the disaster.
