BP Highway reopens

Kathmandu. The BP Highway, which was obstructed after the removal of landslide at Biruwadanda of Roshi rural municipality-9 in Kavre, has been resumed.

According to the District Police Office, Kavre, the highway was completely obstructed due to landslide and mudslide following the rainfall on Friday night. Vehicular movement resumed on the road a short while ago after the removal of mud and landslides piled up on the road was completed.

With the opening of the highway, the vehicles stopped in both directions have resumed. Vehicles heading towards Kathmandu from east were stranded at Khurkot of Sindhuli while vehicles heading towards east from Kathmandu were stranded at Bhakunde of Kavre.

Police have urged the drivers and passengers to travel only by adopting necessary precaution as the roads are still in a risky condition due to monsoon.
