Argentina defeated England at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to reach the final of the FIFA World Cup 2018.
Anthony Gordon gave England the lead in the 55th minute of the second half. Enzo Fernandes scored the only goal of the match in the 85th minute to level the score at 1-1.
Lionel Messi’s cross in the second minute of stoppage time was headed in by substitute Lautaro Martinez to give Argentina a thrilling 2-1 victory.
With this victory, Argentina has reached the final of the World Cup. Argentina will now face European champions Spain in the World Cup final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday. England will now face France in the third-place play-off on Saturday.
