Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Tahir Ali Bhat has demanded that the Speaker of the House of Representatives take a decision on the controversy surrounding the Prime Minister’s remarks.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, lawmaker Bhat said that the Speaker should take decision on the issue as per his conscience, parliamentary rules and decorum.
“Honorable Speaker, this House would like to hear the decision of your conscience. What does your conscience say? Because we have been continuously objecting to the Prime Minister’s statement for months. Precious time of the House is being spent on this issue. ’
Bhat said that such a state of confusion for a long time would neither be in the interest of the dignity of the parliament nor in the interest of the functioning of the parliament.
He urged the Speaker to take initiative to free the parliament from unnecessary deadlock by taking a decision at the earliest and to take the parliamentary proceedings ahead in a systematic and effective manner.
