Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has remanded CPN-UML vice-chair Bishnu Poudel in custody for 5 days. A division bench of Justices Narayan Prasad Poudel and Bidur Koirala issued the order on Wednesday.

This is the fourth time the court has extended the remand against Poudel. The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had arrested UML vice-chair Poudel from Surkhet on June 22 and brought him to Kathmandu. He is being investigated for money laundering.

Earlier, Poudel’s wife Domaya Poudel had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, claiming that her husband was kept in detention illegally. The writ petition was dismissed on July 18.
