Kathmandu. Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr. has announced his retirement from international football.
Neymar has announced his retirement from international football after the 2026 World Cup was knocked out of the last-16 round of 2016 by Norway.
Neymar scored the consolation goal for Brazil at the New Jersey Stadium in the United States. He scored only one goal in the tournament through a penalty in injury time.
Neymar played in four FIFA World Cups. In the ongoing World Cup, he was not fully fit and played as a substitute in only two matches.
Neymar is Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer for the national men’s team. The 34-year-old Neymar, who made his senior debut in 2010, scored 80 goals in 129 appearances for Brazil.
